Our production of Oliver was a great sucess. The children really got into role as the characters and put on a great performance.
We took part in a pasta making workshop this week. After making pasta we ate it with homemade tomato sauce.
We had fun at the cricket festival in Milton and came 5th in the competition.
Try to read as many fantasy stories or traditional tales as possible to widen your knowledge around these genres.
TRIP TO SOUTHWELL WORKHOUSE
We had a great time during our visit to the Victorian Workhouse. The morning was spent in role as a Victorian Pauper, looking around the kitchens, dormitories and privvy and taking part in a Victorian lesson.
In the afternoon we played Victorian games and investigated Victorian artifacts.
OLIVER Preperations for our production of Oliver Twist "with a twist" are underway. We have been busy making props adn scenary and practising songs, dances and drama. Come and see it on Wednesday 26th June at 2pm or 6pm.
TRADITIONAL TALES We have been studying traditional tales in literacy and have written our own fairy tales from the point of view of another character. We merged our stories together to form a group story and then presented our work using ICT on photostory.
PERLETHORPE As part of our rivers topic in KS2, we visited Perlethorpe Education Centre. We had fun measuring river speed, checking for pollution levels, dipping for river creatures and making our own river systems.
MATHLETICS Tuxford Academy visited us to run a mathletics event, in which children took part in practical maths activities out on our field.
