Forest Bathing

What a beautiful spot to embrace our current English theme of contemporary animism—similar to forest bathing, which encourages us to immerse ourselves in nature to support our mental and physical wellbeing. We also explored the idea that everything in nature has its own consciousness and ‘spirit’, from rocks and trees to rivers and insects.

We reflected on how some indigenous communities live in balance and harmony with the natural world, even in today’s technology-driven society. Following Lesley Malpas’s framework, we worked to connect more deeply with nature and become part of it.

After finding a peaceful ‘sit spot’, we gave thanks and expressed our gratitude for the nature around us. We activated our ‘Owl Eyes’ and ‘Deer Ears’, becoming ‘invisible observers’ as we used all of our senses to notice the world both near and far. We then asked questions to the nature around us, helping to build a relationship and form a meaningful connection.

Mindfulness and relaxation at its best ☺️
